Presidents’ Week Arts Program

About Presidents’ Week Arts Specialties

Tumbling at BAX integrates movement from modern dance, gymnastics, and partner acrobatics to explore creative expression through inverted movement. Tumblers learn fundamental tumbling skills that help to increase their flexibility, balance, and awareness of space, shape and form.

In lively and action packed dance sessions, young movers use their bodies and imaginations to create their own movement and explore a variety of dance traditions that include modern, hip hop, ballet, acro, and more.

OBJECT THEATER AND PUPPETRYWith an exploration of theatrical concepts, including improvisation, character, environment, and storytelling, students will use their bodies, voices, imaginations, to bring everyday objects to life as puppets!

Drawing on familiar stories and/or instruments to create original songs, or using pre-recorded music, children explore their creative voices and the joy of music-making.

Young artists use their imaginations to explore various arts media projects that go beyond ordinary arts-and-crafts, creating a whirlwind of individual and group paintings, sculptures, collages, and drawings that engage different themes and reflect their view of the world.
