Education Classes — Payment Policies, Trials, and Make-Ups

Upon registration, a parent or guardian should submit a BAX Youth Education Release Form for each child registered for classes. This a general liability release, including both a medical release and a photo release. If you have questions please email info@bax.org.

PAYMENT POLICYA payment of at least 1/2 tuition is required to reserve a spot in any youth class. Tuition must be paid in full by the 3rd week of an Early Childhood season and the 5th week of a semester (unless a payment plan has been arranged).
REFUND POLICYPrior to the 3rd class of an Early Childhood season and the 5th class of a semester, class tuition is refundable minus classes reserved/taken. There are no refunds after the 3rd class of a season or the 5th class of a semester. A credit may be applied to future registration.

Drops must occur 48 hours prior to the reserved class.
MAKE-UP CLASSESDue to absences or late registration, each student is allowed to take 2 make-up classes each Early Childhood season or 4 make-up classes each semester within the same term in an equivalent, age appropriate class (space permitting). We do not pro-rate tuition.
Make-ups for semester classes will not be scheduled during Family Observation Week or in the last weeks of the semester.
TRIAL CLASSESA free trial class is available to new students, through the 3rd week of each Early Childhood season and the 5th week of each semester (space permitting). Upon registration, the cost of the trial class will be included in the tuition.

Playspace Class CardsBAX offers class cards for drop-in Playspace classes. Families can purchase a 10 class card for $80. Class cards are valid for 1 year.* Playspace included for free with Move & Groove registration.
Park Slope Parents MembersPSP Members receive 5% off tuition (excluding registration fee and school break programs). Members must request this discount at the time of registration and be prepared to show membership card to registration desk upon request.

Presidents’ Week, Spring Break & Master Classes — Tiered Tuition, Payment Policies and Deadlines, and Extended Day

Registration Opens Thursday, January 2, 2020: We recommend (and prefer) that all families register through our online registration system, which includes waivers, release forms, and detailed information that is required for program participation. If you need to register by phone, you will need to complete and return this paperwork before the program start date. The above tiered pricing is based on an honor system of your-expressed-need (we do not require financial documentation). By paying what you are able, you help us better meet the needs of other families. Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis, and half of the tuition must be received to secure a spot. Installment plans are available, and you can elect to enroll in one during online registration.

To request financial assistance beyond these three tiers (i.e. beyond 30%), please fill out this form / este formulario (which will be available on Thursday, January 2, 2020)Please note tuition subsidy beyond 30% is limited*, and we do not offer Financial Aid exceeding 60%. We urge you to submit any financial aid requests on January 2, 2020 (for both PWAP and SBAP) or as soon as possible thereafter. As with our public tier registration, any additional aid available will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

**PLEASE NOTE: Financial Assistance beyond a subsidy of 30% is no longer available for the President’s Week Arts Program.

PAYMENT POLICY

Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis. Half of the tuition must be received to secure a spot. Registration will be voided if full payment is not received or postmarked by Sunday, February 9, 2020 for PWAP program or Sunday, April 5, 2020 for SBAP. All Installment plans available online will be paid in full on or before these deadlines. 

No registration fee is required for Presidents’ Week or Spring Break.

REFUND POLICY

Presidents’ Week Arts Program — Cancellations or changes made before Monday, January 31, 2020, will be accepted and refunded minus a flat $35 cancellation fee.
For cancellations between Monday, January 31, 2020 and Sunday, February 9, 2020, 50% of total tuition owed is held as a cancellation fee. If more than 50% of total tuition owed has been paid, the difference will be refunded.
Cancellations on or after Monday, February 10, 2020 are not eligible for a refund.

Spring Break Arts Program — Cancellations or changes made before Friday, March 20, 2020, will be accepted and refunded minus a flat $35 cancellation fee.
For cancellations between Saturday, March 21, 2020 and Sunday, April 5th, 2020, 50% of total tuition owed is held as a cancellation fee. If more than 50% of total tuition owed has been paid, the difference will be refunded.
Cancellations on or after Monday, April 6th, 2020 are not eligible for a refund.

Please note that any credits issued for BAX School Breaks tuition paid can only be redeemed for BAX School Breaks programming, and are not transferable to other BAX programming.

Extended Day Program

  • Please note that there are a limited number of Extended Day spots available.
  • Families must arrange for participation in the optional extended day program at least 24 hours in advance of the relevant day.
  • The program runs from 3:00-5:45 pm, but students can be picked up at any time*.

Payment for Extended Day is due in full at the time of registration.

Extended Day Cancellations made on or before Sunday, February 8, 2020 for PWAP and Sunday, April 5, 2020 for SBAP will be accepted and refunded. Extended Day Program cancellations after these deadlines will result in a credit to the family’s account.

* Additional fees may apply to students who are not picked up within their registered pick-up time.

Summer Arts Program — Tiered Tuition, Payment Policies and Deadlines, Extended Day, and Vaccination Requirement

Please note tuition subsidy beyond 25% is limited, and we do not offer Financial Aid for the Summer Arts Program (SAP) exceeding 50%. We urge you to submit any financial aid requests on January 27, 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter.

PAYMENT POLICY

Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis. Half of the tuition must be received as a deposit to secure a spot. Registration will be voided if full payment is not received or postmarked by Wednesday, July 1, 2020. All Installment plans available online require a credit card to be enrolled in auto-billing through Active, and will be paid in full on or before this deadline. 

REFUND POLICY

On or before Friday, May 1, 2020, cancellations accepted minus a flat $50 cancellation fee.

In the event of a session cancellation after May 1, 2020 up until two weeks prior to the start of the session, 50% of tuition will be forfeit as a cancellation fee. Cancellations on or after two weeks prior to the start of the session are not eligible for a refund.

Registration fee is non-refundable.

SWITCHING WEEKS

There is a $25/per week charge for switching one week for another, provided BAX receives at least two weeks notice and space is available. With less than two weeks notice, changes will be treated as a cancellation (see above).

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

  • Please note that there are a limited number of Extended Day spots available.
  • Families must arrange for participation in the optional Extended Day program at least 24 hours in advance of the relevant day, and in the option early bird drop-off program before the start of the relevant week.
  • The Extended Day program runs from 3:00-5:45 pm, but students can be picked up at any time*.

Cancellations of Extended Day registrations made at least two weeks in advance will be accepted and fully refunded. With less than two weeks notice, Extended Day cancellations will result in a credit on your account.

* Additional fees may apply to students who are not picked up within their registered pick-up time.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

We require Summer Arts Program participants and staff to be fully immunized in accordance with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene regulations.

Vaccination records, or an updated medical record that includes vaccination history, are due on or before June 15, 2020. If you register on or after June 15, your records will be due prior to your child(ren)’s first day of the program.
