Education Classes — Payment Policies, Trials, and Make-Ups

PAYMENT POLICYA payment of at least 1/2 tuition is required to reserve a spot in any youth class. Tuition must be paid in full by the 3rd week of a trimester and the 5th week of a semester (unless a payment plan has been arranged).
REFUND POLICYPrior to the 3rd class of a trimester and the 5th class of a semester, class tuition is refundable minus classes reserved/taken. There are no refunds after the 3rd class of a trimester or the 5th class of a semester. A credit may be applied to future registration.

Drops must occur 48 hours prior to the reserved class.
MAKE-UP CLASSESDue to absences or late registration, each student is allowed to take 2 make-up classes each trimester or 4 make-up classes each semester within the same term in an equivalent, age appropriate class (space permitting). We do not pro-rate tuition.
TRIAL CLASSESA free trial class is available to new students, through the 3rd week of each trimester and the 5th week of each semester (space permitting). Upon registration, the cost of the trial class will be included in the tuition.

Playspace Class CardsBAX offers class cards for drop-in Playspace classes. Families can purchase a 10 class card for $80. Class cards are valid for 1 year.* Playspace included for free with Move & Groove registration.
Park Slope Parents MembersPSP Members receive 5% off tuition (excluding registration fee and school break programs). Members must request this discount at the time of registration and be prepared to show membership card to registration desk upon request.

President’s Week, Spring Break & Master Classes — Payment Policies, Fees & Discounts

Registration Opens Wednesday, January 2, 2019: We recommend (and prefer) that all families register through our online registration system, given that the online process incorporates waivers, permissions slips, and detailed information that is required for program participation. If there are circumstances that prevent you from using online registration, it will be necessary to complete and return additional paperwork before the program start date. You may contact us at 718-832-0018 if you require assistance with the online registration process.

The above tiered pricing is based on an honor system of your-expressed-need (we do not require financial documentation). By paying what you are able, you help us better meet the needs of other families. Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis, and half of the tuition must be received to secure a spot.

To request financial assistance beyond these three tiers (i.e. beyond 40%), please fill out this form. Please note tuition subsidy beyond 40% is limited. We urge you to submit these financial aid requests on January 2nd (for both PWAP and SBAP) or as soon as possible thereafter.

PAYMENT POLICY

Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis. Half of the tuition must be received to secure a spot. Registration will be voided if full payment is not received or postmarked by February 11th for PWAP program or April 15th for SBAP. No registration fee is required for President’s Week or Spring Break!

REFUND POLICY

President’s Week Arts Program — Cancellations or changes made before Monday, January 28, 2019, will be accepted and refunded minus a flat $35 cancellation fee.

For cancellations between Monday, January 28 and Sunday, February 10, 2019, 50% of total tuition owed is held as a cancellation fee. If more than 50% of total tuition owed has been paid, the difference will be refunded.

Cancellations on or after Monday, February 11, 2019 are not eligible for a refund.

Spring Break Arts Program — Cancellations or changes made before Monday, April 1, 2019, will be accepted and refunded minus a flat $35 cancellation fee.

For cancellations between Monday, April 1 and Sunday, April 14, 2019, 50% of total tuition owed is held as a cancellation fee. If more than 50% of total tuition owed has been paid, the difference will be refunded.

Cancellations on or after Monday, April 15, 2019 are not eligible for a refund.

Extended Day Program — Families must arrange for participation in the optional extended day program at least 24 hours in advance of the relevant day. There are a limited number of spots available. The program runs from 3:00-5:45 pm, but students can be picked up at any time.

Cancellations made on or before Monday, January 28 for PWAP and Monday, April 1 for SBAP will be accepted and refunded. Extended Day Program cancellations with less than two weeks notice will result in a credit.

* Additional fees may apply to students who are not picked up within their registered pick-up time.

BAX in a non-profit organization committed to providing high-quality accessible arts education programming to all families regardless of financial means. Our Summer Arts Program tuition is priced at three tiers, which includes sliding scale subsidies of up to 30% so that each family can assess the price that works best for their household. This is based on an honor system of your-expressed-need (we do not require financial documentation). By paying what you are able, you help us better meet the needs of other families.

Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis. Half of the tuition must be received to secure a spot. Registration will be voided if full payment is not received or postmarked by Saturday, June 1, 2019.

REFUND POLICY

On or before Wednesday, May 1, 2019, cancellations accepted minus a flat $25 cancellation fee.

After May 1, 2019, cancellations incur a $50 fee per week, provided BAX can fill the spot with a full paying student. If the spot cannot be filled all tuition is forfeited. In the event that a cancellation occurs after May 1st but more than 4 weeks before the start of the week(s) being canceled, BAX will credit a family’s account the value of the canceled week(s) minus the $50 per week cancellation fee to be used towards future programming.

Registration fee is non-refundable.

Switching Weeks
There is a $25 /per week charge for switching one week for another, provided BAX receives at least two weeks notice. Less than two weeks notice, changes will be treated as a cancellation (see above).

Extended Day / Early Bird Drop-Off Program

Families must arrange for participation in the optional extended day program at least 24 hours in advance of the relevant day, and in the option early bird drop-off program before the start of the relevant week. There are a limited number of spots available in each program.

Cancellations of Extended Day or Early Bird Drop-Off registrations made at least two weeks in advance will be accepted and fully refunded. With less than two weeks notice, Extended Day cancellations will result in a credit on your account while Early Bird Drop-Off cancellations are entirely non-refundable and will result in a forfeited payment.
