3:30-4:45	Modern II [X] Modern II Using a foundation in integrated movement (dancing with the whole body), Modern II students begin to learn more formal dance technique. Rhythm and musicality begin to come into play as students explore music in dance through solo, duet, and group pieces. Students continue to explore choreography and develop knowledge of dance terminology and how to talk about dance composition. ** Modern II, III and IV overlap in age depending on student's experience and interest level.	Ages 6-8		Erin [X] Erin Cairns Cella (In-house Teacher) started dancing at the Hatboro, PA YMCA at age 3, and holds an MFA in Dance, Choreography, and Performance from Temple University. Erin is also certified to teach both Vinyasa and Hatha yoga and has been teaching yoga and dance based classes for children ages 18 months to three years old. She currently teaches Mommy and Me Yoga along with Kids Yoga at Bamboo Moves Yoga Studio, and has developed a curriculum focusing on instilling a sense of body awareness for little movers. 4:45-6:15	Modern IV [X] Modern IV While expanding on the formal technique introduced in Modern III, this class emphasizes time, shape, space, motion, musicality and dynamics. Students learn more advanced phrases and combinations and focus on finding their individual strengths as a dancer. Ages 9-12		Diane [X] Diane Tomasi (In-house Teacher) Diane began her teaching in 2001 and has taught ongoing classes, and workshops in and around the US, including New York, Alaska, and Massachusetts as well as the UK. Her teaching repertoire includes gymnastics and tumbling, modern, ballet, and contact improvisation. Diane moved to New York in 2006 and has danced with choreographers such as Taras Kardashov, Rainey Welch, and currently Sunhwa Chung. As a teacher, Jules values the knowledge, art, and creativity that exists within people, and works to provide space, encouragement, and learning opportunities for people of any age to express themselves and connect to each other through the practice of art. 4:00-5:30	Modern III [X] Modern III A class for more experienced dance students, Modern III serves as a survey course of different kinds of dance. Units covered include modern dance technique, ballet, rhythmic dance, dance history, acrobatic dance, swing dance and dance composition. Techniques emphasized in Modern III include dance positions, leg and foot work, centering, balance, strength, stretch, and alignment, well as an exploration of multi-dimensional space. Students also learn improvisational technique and how to analyze and describe movement. For the last ten years, she has had the pleasure of teaching ballet and modern to dancers aged 3 to adult with a focus on using technique to find greater efficiency and a full range of movement possibilities. Christiana is a member of the contemporary dance company zoe\|juniper and she also dances with Kawamura the 3rd/Mana Kawamura, the Feather Theory/Raja Kelly, and the Mill/Michou Szabo. In 2010, she was awarded the Chris Komar Merit Scholarship to study at the Merce Cunningham Studio where she performed alongside the Repertory Understudy Company in reconstructions of seminal Cunningham works. Ms. Costello is currently a teaching artist for Lincoln Center Institute, BAX, and Dance New Amsterdam. She began teaching at BAX in 1999 and this marks her fourth year directing DPW I. [X] Gina Kohler Gina is a Brooklyn based independent choreographer, teacher and yoga instructor. She continues to share her work internationally and throughout New York City and is passionately developing her current project, dream [factories] both a live art event and book in the making. Gina is an interdisciplinary artist and continues to imagine the endless capacity for dance making thru multiple mediums. 10:15-11:15	Modern I [X] Modern I Modern I introduces young dancers to a structured dance class that explores rhythm, spatial relationships, dance terminology, and locomotive movement.
